Aerende is a not-for-profit homeware brand creating timeless products handmade in the UK by people facing social challenges.
Founder Emily Mathieson is committed to working with UK- based organisations, charities and social enterprises to develop sustainably sourced items that support craftspeople who face barriers to conventional employment, helping to enhance their skills, mental health and self-esteem, while providing much needed revenue for supporting organisations.
These range from the Camphill Grange Community in Gloucestershire where adults with learning disabilities create each unique stoneware piece, to Real Inspiration in Hertfordshire, where makers recovering from cancer produce Aerende’s knitted items. From sourcing to delivery, each decision the brand makes is to further its positive impact. Through Aerende, Mathieson unites a community of creatives and harnesses
the power of consumers to affect social change.
