Carolina Wong is an accessories designer, producing ethical leather goods which aim to empower women in developing countries, primarily in Morocco. Wong is dedicated to promoting self-sufficiency and has a sensitivity to the local cultures in which she works in. This means employing local artisans who still strongly rely on handcrafts, while also supporting cottage production by stay at home women in Morocco, meaning they can earn a living while they take care of their families. Wong works side by side with her craftsmen, a team constituted of men and women of different ages, tribes, religions and sexual orientations. She strives to create a working environment free of discrimination and judgement.
