The discerning nature of the Maiyet woman continues to evolve and has delivered the Resort 2017 collection to a precise space, imbued with effortless ease, playful confidence, and sensuality.

Mid 20th Century portraits by Seydou Keita exist next to 1980’s images of Lady Diana and the late Prince on the inspiration board. These images share a playful interchange with present day images of Wiz Khalifa. This eclectic mix informs the array of patterns, prints, textures, and techniques of the collection; which together create a thoughtful proposal that embraces many different women and all of her dramatically varying wardrobe needs.

Da Monsta, at The Glass House by Philip Johnson

"I visited the Philip Johnson site last summer and the Da Monsta building really left an impression. I love the curvilinear lines in the all white interior, the highlights and shadows created by carved walls, windows and doorways. It's an otherworldly and slightly disorienting space, yet it's strangely calming and serene. I felt the space was a perfect environment to showcase this Resort '17 collection which is an ever evolving study of our sensual arc seamlines and hemlines. In clothing, I am continually drawn to the sensuality inherent in a curved line and how it enhances and guides the eye around the female form.

I love, and hold a deep appreciation for architecture, and over the past few season's I've looked to it as a point of reference, or as a setting to showcase our collections. In Fall '16 I looked to the contrasting worlds of John Lautner and Carlo Mollino. This Resort collection was a remix of sorts. Riffs and reinterpretations on signature shapes I've introduced over the past few seasons. I explored bolder color, and prints which felt at home in this all white interior which happens to host an equally colorful John Chamberlain sculpture." Declan Kearney, Maiyet Creative Director.
